Do I think you’re beautiful? Well, it really doesn’t matter what I think, because you are beautiful.
You are beautiful. Present tense. You are and always will be beautiful, nothing I say can change that. Nothing can change that.
Your beauty is a fact. It has been a fact since creation, during your earliest days and despite your worst sin. It really has nothing to do with my opinion, but everything to do with God.
“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
All humans are created in the image of God. The same God that created the amazing beauty of the world. When He made the world he saw that it was good, yet after He creates us he looks over His creation and now defines it as very good! (Genesis 1) He placed the stars and moon in the sky yet He cares for us and crowns us with glory and honour. (Psalm 8) You are more beautiful than creation, and more valued than the stars in the sky.
“And the very hairs on your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:30
God knows everything about you, God made you personally. He wasn’t following a template, He made every individual part of you. He knit you together in the dark of your mother’s womb. He saw you before you were born, and laid out every moment of your life. (Psalm 139) Every single part of you is beautiful. And you are loved.
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8
I know you aren’t perfect, you have sinned, but Jesus doesn’t care. The Gospels tell a story where an immoral woman washed Jesus’ feet, anointed them with oil and dried them with her hair. Jesus did not look on her with hate, but with love. He said, “Your sins are forgiven. Your faith has saved you, go in peace.” (Luke 7) Christ’s sacrifice has released you from the bondage of sin. Your sins were red as scarlet, but now they’re washed away; The love and faith you’ve shown is all the price you have to pay; For the depth of God’s forgiveness is deeper than the sea; And no matter what the world may think, you’re beautiful to me. (Don Francisco)
You are and always will be beautiful because God says you are, and he will never change his mind. He loves you and thinks you’re beautiful. And I agree with him.
