O God, enthroned in heaven, we bow before You, maker of all creation. Let us be still in Your presence, to be in awe of You, to be in wonder of You and Your power. We observe all Your creation and are amazed, all the remarkable things You have made cause us to praise and worship Your great Name.
Heavenly Father, as we contemplate the wonders of You, help us to apply this sense of awe and wonder to our lives. May it impact us, change us, and mould us into people who are truly humble, truly content, and truly holy.
Our Provider, let us be thankful. Everything we have is yours, our church, our friends, our family are gifts from You. Indeed, our lives are sustained by You, the breath in our lungs and the blood in our veins. We are fully dependent on you, help us to give up our desire for control, independence and self reliance. Let us be people who joyfully submit to You. Only You are eternal. Only You stay the same forever. Only You define truth.
In our weakness, help us to be humble, never prideful. May we turn away from sin, turn away from evil and turn away from idols. Because of who You are, help us to long for You with an undivided heart, a single pursuit and one desire. We give up all that distracts us from Your glory, all our pride, our deceit, our selfishness, our lust, our greed, our envy, all that gets in Your way. Empty us of our own desires, and fill us with more of You.
LORD, we give You full reign in our lives. Let us be empty vessels, indeed vessels that You can use, fully submitted to You. Our lives are bought with a great price, the price of Your Son on the cross, shedding His blood for us. As we comprehend all You have done in Jesus, let us be content. Humble in whatever circumstance, in whatever trial, under whatever slander, through whatever hardship, just like Christ.
Son of God, precious lamb, lead us, guide us and teach us. Let us learn in Christ’s school of humility, Christ’s school of holiness, Christ’s school of prayer. May He increase as we decrease.
Help us to be partners in the gospel, the good news that You reign. May we imitate Christ, who humbled himself as a man, and died on a cross. That at the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus is LORD to the glory of God, the Father.
May we know You, the power of Your resurrection, and share in the suffering of Your crucifiction, for we know that to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Give us the mind of Christ as we press on toward the goal, the call that You have placed on our lives.
So let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Please may You work in us according to Your will, so that we may be an acceptable sacrifice, a pleasing aroma to You. Help us not to worry, but instead to pray about everything as our minds are set on your glory.
May we think, meditate and delight in whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, whatever is excellent, and whatever is praiseworthy.
In the Name of our precious Saviour, the Servant King, the Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen and amen.
